Waiting for the winter 2009
Pasi | Web designer, | Finland | 10/26/2009
Pasi Heiskanen gives us an opportunity to have a look into one week of his life in clean lines, without any facade. His week is a week of a man living in Finland, devoted to his work and despite living alone surely not suffering from loneliness, thanks to the presence of his furry darlings. Pasi's set demonstrates that a perfectly photographed set can indeed often allow us to learn a lot about the author and in a way enter their mind for a while.

Coswig | Student, | Utah | 11/2/2009
It’s interesting to watch what people focus their attention on while capturing their week of life. In the case of this student’s set, the focus is undoubtedly on words, messages, signs. There are so many around us but in our hurried world we don’t have the time and often even mood to stop and devote a few more seconds of attention to them. Coswig did this and as a result, not only can we look over the life around her but also in a fun way read into it. At the same time, her set caught our attention with a different perspective, a different outlook on the world. Thanks to this it earned its place in our Editor’s choice.

Hoang | Manager, | Vietnam | 10/29/2009
We are very glad that we can welcome in our Week of Life family a set of a person who lives in such a distant land as Vietnam, not only in terms of kilometers but also in terms of mentality and way of life. It pleases us all the more that it’s a set of photographs that absolutely disarmed us with their rawness and honesty. Hoang Thao shows us the life of a young person living in Vietnam the way it really is. She is young, likes to have fun and enjoys her life in the company of her friends as well as her family, which is closely tied together by traditions and national customs.
My Week
Against weeks blazing with colors, black and white photographs have to make much more effort to catch one’s eye. Due to this they can go unnoticed. But that’s not the case of this set. Vladimir Yurkovic’s photographs are spontaneous and capture his life absolutely naturally, and yet each and every one of them is exceptional and shows that the author has a sense of detail and art, and also a great eye. While capturing his life, the author focused his attention on the persons that are very close to him and with every day he demonstrates how much he loves his family. He devotes a lot of attention to parts of the human body and touch, as if suggesting how important interpersonal contact is.
My Week
Vlad | Illustrator, | Russia | 6/15/2009
Notwithstanding the chilling associations Siberia may have for us, this week captured in Siberian Irkutsk feels warm and cosy, thanks to its unusual colorfulness. Vlad Gerasimov's photographs often reflect his work as an illustrator, and every day reveals a hint of his artistic passion and playfulness.
