Editor`s Choice

druhý - není to tak jednoduchý
It's not that easy. What does that phrase mean exactly? Is it about the challenge the Week of Life project demands everyone to undertake? If that is what Jirka Skaloud thinks about his week, with the already mentioned name 'It's not that easy', we will surely please him and calm him down. Sure, it's not the easiest of tasks, holding a camera by your side, document life throughout the whole day and wondering if there is anything left you haven't taken a picture of, but in this case, it's a quality week full of great images and interesting content. As viewers, we can enjoy the captured moments as well as detailed description of the individual days. The 63 photos are filled with various themes and styles, which include shots of landscape, macro but mainly details from his life. In this way, Jirka has shown us that he is a very versatile photographer and that we can start being excited about his upcoming weeks.
27...tak trochu zasněný
A little lost in dreams is the name of Miroslav Dusanek’s week, today’s Editor’s Choice. Miroslav, who has been submitting weeks to the Week of Life project for half a year now, and his approach to his newest week have shown us that perception of life can be very colorful and imaginative. Photography allows for countless opportunities and together with a sense for creativity, we can create all sorts of interesting and unusual photographic sets. With the help of a chilly atmosphere, blue toning and the multiple exposure technique, we are suddenly absorbed by a different world and let loose of any kind of reality. We hope this week will inspire others and soon, Week of Life will be full of similarly creative weeks such as the one from Miroslav.
Anglický týden
The idea behind the Week of Life project is for people to document thein everyday lives and try to show others how they live through a series of photos. However, a large number of people also use the project to show thein holidays or random travels. Usually, these weeks differ from the ones that capture ordinary life and often have a lot more to show. And at times, they are even better in quality. The reason behind this is the fact that people find themselves in a new environment, an interesting location and with the intention to make as many pictures as possible. It is always an interesting comparison when a user shows us a week from home and a week from his or her travels. The same applies to today's Editor's Choice, which goes to Lukáš Veselý and his week, as the name suggests, spent on a journey around England. In a single week, he managed to document the atmosphere of London, Oxford, the coast of Wales and other attractive locations Great Britain has to offer.
Pryč ze stereotypu
Many of us enjoy the classic black and white photography and the Week of Life project perfectly demonstrates this endearment. However, the summer is around the corner and colors have taken the predominant role of the environment around us, so it would be a pity not to use them to our advantage. Martin Indruch is one of those who chose to make us of these surroundings. His 8th week overall named Away from stereotypes is overflowing with colors and next to images of people and several self-portraits, he has shown us details from life around him. Some of these detailed images clearly indicate what has been captured, others make us think what the person behind the camera actually meant to photograph. Good luck to Martin in his future endeavors and we hope that today's selection will push him towards documenting new exciting weeks such as this one.
banality reality
May, the time of love. This well known characteristic of the month of May fits perfectly to the week of Zuzana Bobovnikova, named 'banalities, realities'. You can almost feel the smell of the spring atmosphere flowing from the week full of sunlight, fading dandelions and spring thunderstorms. Zuzana focused on her family and friends in her week and with her delicate eye and ability to document emotions, she was able to capture laughter, happiness, love, passion, but also children's crying. Let's all hope that Zuzana will present her weeks on Week of Life in a more frequent manner, since her weeks are really breathtaking and worth looking at, including today's Editor's Choice.
