Editor`s Choice

S WoL podruhé...
To do certain activities, we are usually motivated by the things around us. We like to be inspired by our surroundings and the same applies to the WoL project. A time comes when we finally decide to document our life in a photographic set. This time it was Lenka Dvořáková who found the inspiration in her husband Zdeněk. The fact that their styles are almost identical is truly unbelievable. Is it the technique, the vision or the inspiration? All of these play some kind of a role but all we know for sure is that Zdeněk now has a serious competitor at home. In any case, together they are creating a document of life from two perspectives, showing us their individual takes on the joys and sorrows of the everyday life.
Mise SOMALIA Border
For most people, Africa is the continent of elephants, lions, giraffes or zebras, usually seen from the safety of a jeep on a safari ride. It is a beautiful continent, but many of its inhabitants live a cruel life. Millions suffer from starvation, lack of water or diseases, leaving education and an everyday meal a matter of dreams and imagination. Jiří Pergl is a man who could live a normal life in peace, but he decided to help out even if it meant a long, stressful and dangerous journey. Through the OMDC foundation, he helps children in Kenya and thanks to his documented sets we have the chance to follow his progress. His next week called The Somalia border mission is rightfully the next Editor's Choice.
Velké čekání
The birth of a baby is one of the most wonderful things life has to offer. Here at WoL, we've already witnessed several weeks documenting such a happy moment. However, Žaneta Malá's first week called Big expectations is slightly different. The first time in Week of Life's history, the mother herself captured the first moments of her child in this world. There are sets that we remember for a long time and this one is certainly one of them. From all of us at WoL we wish the mother as well as the baby boy Samuel Malý all the best.
16.
Whenever there is need for wishes or compliments, besides the obligatory luck and love we wish people good health. Any time spent in a hospital isn't positive and the fact that it is a planned procedure doesn't make it any better. Your mind is filled with negative thoughts and anything that makes you forget about it even for a minute is more than welcome. Pavel Zukal had such an experience recently and decided to spend the unpleasant time waiting for surgery with a camera in his hand, capturing his 16th week for WoL, where he takes us on a trip to visit the less fortunate moments of his life that can befall upon any one of us. We wish Pavel to get better soon, so that he is once again able to document his life in a more positive atmosphere.

The magic number seven - a symbol of luck for many of us. This number also plays a role in Mirek Zelenka's contribution to the project, since he has already documented seven weeks of his life, and his 'Seventh' week has become today's selection of the Editor's Choice. His week is full of colors as if it were welcoming Spring, although some of the images portraying snow assure us that Winter will still play its part in the upcoming weeks. The set of 63 photos of Mirek Zelenka's diverse life offers images of people, animals, nature, his home and many other aspects from his surroundings and we wish the author of this week much more luck than the lucky number seven has to offer.
